Joe, this was such a beautiful telling of a horrible disease. My father had dementia. Once it was officially diagnosed, he only lived another year and a half and that was in a nursing home. Because it was in NY and I was in OH, I only saw him a few times before he passed, but every time my family and I came to visit he would look right at me. His eyes would brighten and he would exclaim, “I know you!” Thanks for sharing. – Amy
